Cookie Policy

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device to remember things between page loads or between visits. Some are essential for a site to work; others help the site owner understand how the site is used so they can improve it.

This policy explains which cookies we use on impactemploymentlaw.co.uk, what each one does, how long it lasts, and how you can change your mind about them at any time.

How we use cookies

We group the cookies we use into three categories. You can accept or reject any non-essential category from the cookie banner that appears on your first visit, or by selecting Manage cookie preferences at the bottom of any page.

Essential cookies

These are required for the site to function. They are set by us (first-party) and cannot be turned off.

  • iel_consent: stores your cookie preferences so the banner doesn’t reappear on every visit. First-party. Lasts 12 months.

Analytics cookies

Help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. These only run if you accept analytics cookies.

  • Vercel Analytics: a privacy-friendly analytics service from our hosting provider. Records page views and basic device information without using cross-site identifiers. First-party. Data is processed by Vercel Inc.
  • Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*): used if enabled, to measure traffic and engagement at an aggregate level. IP addresses are anonymised. Third-party (Google LLC). The default _ga cookie lasts up to 2 years; _ga_* (session) up to 2 years. See Google’s privacy policy for details on how Google handles this data.

Marketing cookies

We don’t currently use marketing cookies. The category is included in the preferences modal so that, if we add advertising or remarketing tools in future, your existing choice will continue to apply.

Your choices

When you first arrive on the site, a banner asks you to choose between Accept all, Reject all, or Manage preferences. The two top-level options are equally prominent, and rejecting non-essential cookies is exactly as easy as accepting them.

You can change your mind at any time by selecting Manage cookie preferencesat the bottom of any page. We’ll remember your choice for 12 months, after which we’ll ask again.

Browser-level controls

As well as the controls on this site, you can block or delete cookies using your browser settings. Most browsers let you refuse all cookies, refuse third-party cookies only, or delete cookies that have already been set. Doing so may affect how this and other websites work for you.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the cookies we use change. The “last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest revision. If a change materially affects how we use cookies, we’ll prompt you to review your preferences again.
